Daisies
In summer
daisies
push
themselves out of the earth.
No one
needs to die.
In sun
and shade they
bloom and
shout their joy. Then when
the
petals fall, one
by one,
we count our
love, grateful
that the blossom
we chose never
fails
to tell us
what we
by now knew
in our heart—she
loves us. Yes, we knew
that, but
it’s nice to
have an innocent
flower
ratify it’s
true.
