Gatherer

The Gatherer

Each morning he cleans

the beach at Bali, his pole

across his shoulders,

so tourists like me 

can enjoy the view and tell

friends back home to come

to Bali, the land

the Lord has not forgotten

nor the sea that sends

new gifts each morning

for us to glean.
